It’s not necessary to provide so much cooling at home

There seems to be this whole idea that if the temperature makes its way above 80, you need to crank the HVAC cooling down to roughly 67.

Seriously, I honestly know people who do just this.

It’s mystifying to me to be honest. I just don’t understand that mind set in the least. Granted, the bunch of us live in a region where the heat is a pretty serious deal from mid May to almost the end of September. And I’ll be the first to say how thankful I am for our heat pump plus the HVAC cooling it brings. Not only that but the HVAC cooling procedure also balances the humidity in our household so I’m not dealing with a huge amount of mold & mildew on a regular basis. But I also don’t fork over what amounts to a drastic vehicle payment every single week simply to over cool our household. Living in this region during the warm season is more about mental plus physical preparations than it is about HVAC cooling. You see, when the hot plus cold temperatures around these parts start rising about mid March, I don’t turn on the air conditioner device just yet. Instead, I begin acclimating to the heat plus just living with higher temperatures. This way, when the hot plus cold temperatures soar plus stay near a hundred degrees for a long while, I require less use of the air conditioner. Of course, I make sure that the air conditioner tune-up happens plus I keep the household nice plus tight. This maximizes the HVAC device efficiency. But I keep my thermostat in the mid 80’s during the tremendous heat plus then bring it down to a comfortable level for sleeping during the evening. And it doesn’t cost me a small fortune.
