Building a house and staying in a temporary rental

My husband and I have both been married before. We each had our own home and kids when we got together. Before getting married the two of us discussed what would be the right option for everyone. It seemed wrong to uproot one family and not the other. My new husband and I decided that we could easily afford building a house from scratch. That way the home would be big enough for all the kids to have their own room and be just what everyone wants. I wanted a home with heated flooring, my husband wanted a workshed. I needed granite countertops in the kitchen and my husband wanted to have covered parking. The building process was going to take almost a year though. My husband and I didn’t want to wait that long to live together as a family. I found a fully furnished home with a month to month lease. It was great for all of us. My husband and I wanted to get all new furniture for our house anyway, so it was nice being able to throw the old stuff out. The fully furnished rental was a no frills, necessary choice. The kids had a bed, a shared bathroom and the kitchen was decent. It wasn’t luxury living, but it wasn’t rough living either. That monthly leasing option made it nice too. My husband and I didn’t have to rush the home building process along at all. We could make sure everything was perfect before everyone moved in together. It was wonderful not living in a construction zone.
