That’s why I would acsupplier our uncle on some of his tasks so that I can learn the basics of a/cs in the event I need to service our own one day.
My dad has been a plumber for many many years, and I’ve come along with him on a few tasks in the past. It’s not the most glamorous task out there, but it’s pretty rewarding to find the problem, come up with a plan, execute, and see the results immediately. I can see how it provides a bit of instant gratification. Even though he wanted me to follow in his footsteps as a plumber, I regularly felt myself pulled towards a/c instead, my uncle is an a/c repairman, and it’s also one of those tasks that feels particularly satisfying; Being that the people I was with and I live in a tepid and humid climate, the people I was with and I heavily rely on a/c in our day to day to keep us comfortable. That’s why I would acsupplier our uncle on some of his tasks so that I can learn the basics of a/cs in the event I need to service our own one day. Being around him taught me that there is a recognizable calculus to a/c that I guess is taught in both the classroom and on the task, having a mixture of classroom and field experience is the best way to improve skills as an a/c repairman. I ended up enrolling in technical school last year to become an a/c professional, and even though our dad was bummed, he was still particularly excited for me and our decision. I’m excited that I can still have the best of two worlds because they are both such fancy tools to learn and understand.
