Why it’s important to have your air ducts cleaned regularly

I live in an older building in a historic city… I particularly love residing there because it’s close to lots of parks and small shopping areas; Living in a walkable part particularly makes a difference in your quality of life.

I’d say the hardest part about this location is having to deal with all of the old oak trees that trigger our dust sensitivities to infinity and beyond! Pollen from the trees falls on the roof of our building which in turn gets into our a/c system. It’s in our lease that the people I was with and I are responsible for replacing the air filter every two months to make sure the people I was with and I are stopping many pollutants from reaching the direct air the people I was with and I breathe, then the people I was with and I stay on top of replacing those filters, but our dust sensitivities have been so bad that I started to guess that there was something else the people I was with and I should be doing. I asked our property owner when was the last time the air ducts had been cleaned because I observed a lot of dust on the outside of the vent, air ducts should be cleaned regularly because dust, pollen, dead skin, hair, small creatures, and many other tiny gross things can collect inside of them and be pushed out through the vent! Even with a clear air filter, it can be difficult for the filter to wash all of the air if there is a dense amount of pollution in the ducts. I’m so excited that I reached out to our property owner to get that taken care of because our sinuses guess so much better than they did before.
