Oil to gas furnace conversion

We bought a house that was equipped with an oil furnace.

I wasn’t happy about this type of heating system.

However, the house provided everything else we wanted. It is in the ideal location, with a huge yard and four-car garage. I got my big kitchen and there’s plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and closets. There’s a spacious basement for the laundry room and a playroom. We couldn’t be happier with everything except the heating system. I don’t like relying on oil to heat the house. It’s dirty, creates fumes and I’m constantly worried about running out of fuel. I need to schedule fuel delivery and make sure I’m on the premises when the truck arrives. There’s always the fear of a ruptured tank causing a huge mess and leaving us without heat. In my local area, the temperature drops down to twenty below zero. We can’t go without heat. We need a furnace that operates efficiently and reliably. The oil furnace constantly requires repairs and costs us a small fortune to run. There are rooms in the house that are perpetually chilly. I’ve been looking into natural gas furnaces and planning to invest in oil to gas conversion. Gas heaters achieve much higher efficiency ratings. They are quiet, clean and more environmentally friendly. There is an unlimited amount of natural gas and no need for delivery. Once a gas line was installed, I could also convert my oven, water heater and clothes dryer. This would be super convenient and helpful. The project of conversion and purchasing all new appliances is going to be extremely expensive, but I think it’s worth it. It will increase the value of our home and our quality of life.
