It’s funny how I get to enjoy the winter so much more than a lot of other people.
- I’m sure there are plenty of people who live with a brutal winter that find it fun.
There is skiing, ice skating, hockey and all of those sort of outdoor winter activities. Then you throw in just how beautiful the snow is around the holidays and that is some picture. But for me, winter means freedom from the heat. Where I live, our winter is all about blue skies and sunshine. I wouldn’t last a month if I had to deal with winter up north. I’d chain myself to the HVAC furnace to start with. Honestly, if I had to live with that sort of cold, I don’t think I could ever leave the HVAC comfort of a house. Thankfully, I don’t have to deal with that. Instead, I get a respite from the high heat and humidity that comes with living in this region. But dealing with a very hot summer is a trade off I’ll make every time as long as I don’t have to deal with cold weather. Yet, while I am reveling in the great weather of the moment, I know the heat will be coming. However this year, I have a new weapon in the arsenal for cutting the HVAC cooling costs. And that would be the new smart thermostat I had installed by the HVAC professionals. Actually, I had it installed at the tail end of summer last year. However, with just one month of serious heat to deal with, the smart thermostat did great. A full summer should provide for very significant HVAC cooling savings.
