It feels like my finances should be going in the opposite direction.
I thought that the longer and harder you worked, the better off your financial position.
My case has been almost the reverse of that. For the last 14 years or so, our budget has been pretty limited. Much of what we lost in the last recession never came back to us. That includes our Heating and A/C appointed office. Now, I am working from our lake house in the Heating and A/C comfort of my house. But that Heating and A/C is very important to me. That’s because I really like to soak up as much Heating and A/C as I do an additional job online after my normal labor hours. It’s as though I am in front of the computer in the Heating and A/C all day long… The Heating and A/C also became a target for our cost cutting as well. The Heating and A/C costs for us while in the Winter are nearly nothing. It is so mild here then. The rest of the time, our Heating and A/C costs can be considerable. The Heating and A/C cooling is always running from mid April until November. Yet, it’s the 4 month stretch during summer that takes the largest bite out of our purses. The two of us try our hardest to be sure all of us aren’t over cooling our home in summer. The two of us even programmed the Heating and A/C control machine to rise as the heat builds up in the worst heat of the day. I even installed solar drapes in order to stop the direct daylight heating of the house. My partner and I do draw the line at being too sweaty or uncomfortable. We want to save as much as we can on Heating as well as A/C costs. However, we won’t go to any extreme to sacrifice the Heating and A/C comfort that all of us love.
