My brother’s house smells so bad all the time and I can’t stand it. It’s gotten so bad that most of the time, I refuse to even go and visit him. He says that he has basically gone nose blind to the smells, though. He says that most of the time he doesn’t even notice the terrible smells that are stuck in his ventilation system. But when I go over there, it’s pretty obvious. If the heating or the air conditioning kicks on, the smell immediately comes flooding through the air vents to the point where it’s almost overpowering. I don’t know what he needs to do to get the smell to go away, but I decided to do a little bit of research on one of my favorite online HVAC blogs to see if there’s anything I can do to help out. Well, the first thing I read about was changing the air filters in his HVAC system. Changing the furnace filter and the air conditioning filter really helps to get rid of some old, stale smells that might be stuck somewhere in your ventilation system. The blog also mentioned getting your ductwork professionally cleaned by an HVAC ductwork specialist. Apparently, professional ductwork cleaning is the way to go and I’m just going to have to insist that my brother gets his HVAC dealer out to his house to get it done soon. Hopefully, having his ventilation ducts cleaned out professionally will help with the yucky smells that are always hanging around his house. Then maybe I can go and visit him more often.
