I work for a company that builds very large apartment buildings. We have been in the industry for a very long time and recently my boss started talking about looking into new ventures. My boss mentioned buying an old apartment complex, fixing it up and then selling the apartments. The building that my boss is looking at is in a great area of the city we live in, but it is very old and would need a lot of work. However, once the work on the building was done we would be able to sell the apartments for a lot of money. One thing that really stood out to me when looking at the apartment building was the HVAC system, or lack thereof for that matter. The building was built in the 40s and doesn’t have any HVAC ductwork. I told my boss the installing HVAC ductwork in the entire building would cost a lot of money, but my boss was still on board. So, now it’s my job to contact a local HVAC company and get a quote to have the HVAC system installed. I need to find an HVAC company that will be able to handle the amount of work it is going to take to have this kind of HVAC work done. I have asked a few commercial HVAC companies in the area to give me a quote so that I can present them to my boss. I hope that once I find a few HVAC companies that my boss will want to move forward with one of them!
