Moths in the air vents at work

Last week I noticed a very large moth on the curtain in my office.

I did not want to disturb the majestic insect, so I allowed her to stay on the curtain for the night.

What happened next, I never would have imagined in my wildest dreams. The following morning, I arrived at my job as usual. I actually forgot all about the moth on the curtain, which is really sad. I loved the way she was so still next to the glow of the lamp for so many hours. But, a few hours into my morning, I found her dead body next to the fax machine. I was so upset. I did not intend on letting this animal die such a tragic death. Decided to pick her body up and take her outside. When I picked her up by the wing, she started flapping! Shortly after, I noticed that she had laid her eggs nearby. I knew this was the end. I took her out to a tree to die. The eggs were everywhere, and apparently, even in the AC unit. I thought I had cleaned most of them up, but I was unsuccessful. The eggs that turned into larves eventually hatched in the AC vents and baby moths began to flood out of the vents. I was so shocked that the eggs were able to live in the air conditioning unit for so long. The cold air blowing from the air vents did not affect the life of the larvae.
