The moment that Phillis found out that there wouldn’t be A/C blowing down on her all day was one of the happiest moments of her life. Phillis had been working at the same desk for many years. Despite multiple requests to the property owner, her A/C concerns had not been resolved. Everyday, she came to work with an extra layer of clothing because of how cold she would get during the day at her desk. Unfortunately, she sat directly under an A/C vent and it was not adjustable. The only thing for her to do was to wear more clothing. In the winter months, her boss allows her to keep a small electric heater under her desk to keep her warm. She often brings a blanket in to keep over her legs on the really cold days. Phillis is a very hard worker and rarely complains about anything. When the new supervisor noticed how happy she was about the broken A/C, she decided something needed to be done. Philis was about to find out that she was going to be moving to a new office with her own thermostat! All of the hard work and cold days were beginning to pay off. Phillis immediately started to decorate her new office in her head. She was mostly excited to have her own thermostat to control the temperature in her new space. Phillis deserved this promotion more than anyone and her coworkers were all very proud of her.
