I missed the simple foot days

I grew up down far in the south so I was barefoot nearly my entire childhood.

I can definitely remember easily fighting my mom about always necessarily wearing shoes to go to school.

I just hated shoes because I was so used to go off running around barefoot. Our Winter times always were mild in addition to the Heating in addition to Air Conditioning geothermal heat pump was on only occasionally. But even then, whenever it was totally feasible, those shoes were coming off. Then, I went off to graduate from university, married a guy from the north in addition to suddenly, bare feet certainly weren’t in my future so much. The people I was with and I settled right down near his family so, I had some getting used to Wintertime to do. It’s seemingly been 25 years later, in addition to while I have gotten somewhat accustomed by now to gas furnaces, snow, ice in addition to several weeks of cold, I still never got used to Wintertime. The greatest thing, looking back on it, I know it was the fact that I can never just go around barefoot even in the house. Well, friend, that is about to change because we are building a new home that actually highly encourages bare feet. Now that all the kids are out of the nest, my sweet hubby in addition to I are building a much smaller home. The other people I was with and I feel like we will be there for the duration of our lives. The new home has a geothermal Heating in addition to Air Conditioning which easily heats in addition to cools the home using the earth’s near constant ground temperature instead of gas or electricity. The beauty part of this deal is the heat is transferred using passively heated sizzling water flowing through copper tubes underneath the floorboards. I can’t wait to spend my retirement years completely barefoot, it seems! I know this is as close as I am going to get to being that jyous little kid who never wanted to wear his little shoes.
