Low energy costs during this time of year

I seem to always expect outrageous energy bills through the Winter time and summer time seasons. Although I don’t live in locales as freezing as northern Canada or Alaska, I can still count on freezing winters year after year. I always use my fireplace as often as I can, although I had to supply up splitting wood by hand two or three years ago after a shoulder injury. With wood supplies in our immediate section always waxing and waning while demand soars through January till June, I can’t always expect to have timber for our fireplace. That leaves me burning more natural gas to power our central furnace. This fuel is extremely expensive for long term use, so more often than not I try to put up with the harsh temperatures with more clothing, but this only works in a certain temperature. I look forward to April every year to mark the final end of Winter time and the oncoming summer season. Sadly, I get only a couple of weeks of Spring weather before the heat waves set in and force me to crank down our a/c every day in order to stay cool. Throughout the year, the only time when I have some respite from consistent Heating, Ventilation, and A/C use is while I was in the brief Fall season. In my area, this is correctly from the early part of September until the first snowfalls in early to mid September. My energy fees are always at their lowest and I feel comfortable from the moment I get up in the afternoon until I drift back asleep at night. I just wish the Fall placidity would last me longer than a couple of weeks every year.
