I didn’t go straight to college out of high college.
There were a number of years where I worked for a residing doing physical labor jobs. This suited myself and others just nice because I loved being outside. The idea of being physical all day then seeing the results of our labor was super satisfying. So, I missed out on the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C comfort of an office until much later in life. After about a decade of doing the manual stuff, I went to college and gained a degree. The next thing I knew I was in an office. I was not at all prepared for the social construct that went with laboring inside an office environment. I was blown away by the infighting and all the politics. So, I kind of took a desk in a corner to just go about our work. However, the behavior of our colleagues was sometimes too peculiar to ignore. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C thermostat was a big bone of satisfiedion. There were really factions of people attempting to dominate the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C temperature of our floor. I had been at our new job for about a month when the boss asked myself and others to have breakfast with him. The gesture was honestly nice as he just wanted to be sure that I was settling in. He asked what I thought about laboring in an office now. I told him how unprepared I was for how people behaved. He laughed at that. Then, I told him about the thermostat wars. Here he stopped and asked myself and others to explain. Two days later there was an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C tech installing a smart thermostat.
