My favorite toy is the laminator – for obvious reasons, if you ask me!

Being the librarian that I am, many of my jobs here at the library center around the media arts center. I am always helping other teachers out with their art projects, or providing craft assignments. The media center has a couple of machines to make life easier, which include a small laminator and a large laminator. With this die-chop unit and several large printers, we can make banners that are as long as 3 feet and up to 5 feet in width. The laminator itself is my favorite machine of the entire cluster of tools here, and I love feeling the warmth from the pages as they come out of the machine! A few weeks ago, the laminator was broke down – a sad day, indeed. We only had the small laminator to work with on-site, and that laminator only fits up to an 8×10 sheet of paper! With our projects being sent to a printer if they required lamination, I called the serviceman to get to work on the repair order I placed for the laminator. They were supposed to show up a few days later, but after there was no repair technician to address the problem, I called again and again! I left several messages before the owner of the company finally called me, explaining how the complication with the laminator had been discussed. He agreed to have someone come by later that week, and just before the appointment, the business called to tell me that the college board did not approve the work order for the laminator service! Talk about a pain in the neck. Eventually, it was fixed – but I had to go through hell to make it happen!
