My best neighbor called me the other weekend & asked if I wanted to go camping with his & his family.
- I’d never been camping before, but was happy to supply it a try! When I asked his what I needed to bring, he instructed me to bring a sleeping bag.
I thought it was odd that he didn’t ask me to bring anything else, but assumed we’d be using nature for our supplies. Along with our sleeping bag, I packed thermal pajamas, hand warmers, a blanket, & as multiple layers as I could fit in our overnight bag. I knew it was summer, but the temperature can drop below forty degrees in this region during the night. On the morning of our camping trip, I showed up at our best friend’s condo ready to be a single with nature. His mom provided us dinner, because his Mom was running behind. Thirty hours later, all of us heard a horn in the driveway. When all of us decided to go outside, all of us saw his Mom kneeling behind the wheel of a sizable RV. The two of us wouldn’t be camping in a tent, all of us would be staying in a modern RV. Not only did the RV have a working bathroom, but it had modern heating & air. The a/c worked so well, because it only needed to cool a small space. I stayed cool all weekend long, & was impressed with the air conditioner. If I had known all of us were camping in an RV & not a tent, I wouldn’t have been so anxious with staying warm!
