Change is only natural in life, but it hasn’t always been easy.
- I know the more attached I become to security and routine, the more change happens whether I appreciate it or not.
When I was a kid, I often saw change as threatening or intimidating. Now, I just try my best to roll with the punches plus keep on moving. However, there’s no doubt that when my small ideas of structure are sad then so am I. For example, my job. At one moment, I’m working in my attractive Heating and A/C controlled office downtown, and the next I know, I’m sweating and back at home. That sort of change causes a whirlwind experience. Suddenly, I found myself at home with no office for a week and a lot of work to get done. I had no other relocation source. So, I had to get creative. I took one of my guest rooms in my house and transformed it into a makeshift office for the week. Then, I called the Heating and A/C folks to come out and make sure my up-to-date office had proper Heating and A/C independent from the rest of my home. I like to work in a cool space. There is something about a refreshingly cool office that makes me feel like I can conquer more work and stay focused. So, now that I have my excellent up-to-date home office with a view of the driveway, I’ve decided that I really like working here! I’m going to stop going into the office and work from home in my cool space now. Change happens so be comfortable and roll with it!
